Clinic Name: Simmons Specific Chiropractic Location: Midland, Michigan Dr. Steven Simmons of Simmons Specific Chiropractic in Midland, Michigan was concerned about the safety of the members of his staff that were processing x-rays with chemicals. Our team of specialists put together a custom proposal to address the challenges they were facing. Dr. Simmons realized that it was time to look at updating his x-ray when his technicians began to cough as they stepped out of the x-ray processing room. "They claim it is FDA approved today, but who knows what they will say tomorrow?" explained the doctor. Dr. Simmons understands how important the health and safety of his staff is, and was determined to fix this issue. He was also concerned about storage. "I didn't know where I was going to put all these films. There are so many different guidelines out there and I wasn't sure which ones to follow." Right away he headed up a team to identify how we could help. It was decided that Dr. Simmons needed to be equipped with Digital X-ray. This would eliminate the need for his staff to be exposed to toxic fumes, and would also enable him to manipulate his images for even better image quality while at the same time eliminate his need for physical storage. With our complete PACS System he could store the images in the corresponding patients file on his server and quickly access them from any workstation within his office. We also knew that Dr. Simmons could benefit from our ONYX-Rad x-ray analyzation software by putting tools in his hands to magnify, change contrast, rotate and flip x-ray, and would cut his analyzation time dramatically. Danny recommended the Kodak Point-of-Care CR Reader System with complete training to help minimize downtime during the transition. Outfitted with the newest technology in x-ray, Dr. Simmons and his staff are pleased with their new Digital X-ray setup accompanied by and Amer-Align L-Frame. To accommodate, in April 2009 he upgraded to the most recent technology, Direct Radiography (DR). With this new technology, Dr. Simmons can retrieve his x-ray images in as little as twenty seconds.
